How did we do it?
Every story has a beginning and so does this one...
In 1987 my father purchased a 1986 Winnebago Le Sharo for my mother. This was her "buggy" to make the round trips from Washington to Arizona in the winter months, as she had business in Washington every month, but loved the winter months in Arizona. For 15 years she enjoyed her "buggy" taking it to reunions in Oklahoma and Gold Wing Road Riders rallies in various states, and sometimes just driving it down the road, putting a little over 300K miles on it...she used to say "...being a diesel, she's just good and broke in...!"
But with the passing of time it came to sit in my back yard, all but forgotten...
Phase 1...
...to see if the motor and mechanics were still viable after sitting for 6 years. Finding an automotive shop to even consider looking at it proved to be almost impossible, "... a 4 cylinder Diesel motor from France?" but finally I found a shop that said they'd take a look. So a call to AAA and a great tow-truck driver with a sense of humor, pumped up the tires, and hauled her off to the shop.
Amazingly with just a little cleaning and an oil change...she fired right off the first time they turned the key! WHOO HOO! With a set of new shoes (tires), breaks, hoses, odds and ends she was ready for the road.
This is how she looked the day I brought her home from the auto shop!
Phase 2...
...the Conversion. Oh wow, what a job deciding how, what, when, and where this was going to happen.. my handi-fix-it-guy (better known as my dear husband Carl) did most of the work.

The all important "tub", fresh and gray tanks, building over the hot water tank, putting in the clipper-vac...

A barrier wall to protect the front cab, atop the specially designed battery box and 8 deep cell batteries, the heart of the power source for the 5000/10K wt Inverter with an 80 amp charger (ha! The biggest one the guys at the battery store had ever seen!)

With the power unit in , battery cables, charger and such it was time to figure out how we were going to water seal the floors and walls...our answer? Rhino Lining in cream color!

With the unique design of the Le Sharo some things had to be unique as well. We designed a special hydraulic table with a Lazy Sue table top that locks in 12 positions, and on top of that a free spinning Lazy Sue , actually I have several sizes, 18", 24" and my big one at 27"... that fit on top of the locking 36"...you ask why so many? Well, I guess you can say I'm spoiled, I like the comfort it give the pets on my table, all they have to do is "stand there" the table does the work of turning!
Something the we have that other Mobile units do not have...

Office on the right, Potty on the left, close the door and every thing's...out of sight!

Equipment in place and a rose from the garden...we are ready for the ROAD!
Phase 3...
...graphics? In 2008 we decided to go with a new look...still a clean sleek look to go with the original "Euro-look" of the Le Sharo...
People that knew my mother and how she enjoyed her "buggy" and have seen the transformation, are thrilled that we chose to keep the Le Sharo and give it a new life...they say "SHE would be pleased..."
